  • The story of Postcard Cabins began with founder and CEO Jon Staff, who, at just 25, sought refuge from the relentless demands of his fast-paced startup career. During a life-changing road trip across the American West in a 26-foot Airstream, Jon experienced the transformative power of unplugging, recharging, and reconnecting with nature. Inspired to share this sense of renewal, he teamed up with his college friend Pete Davis to launch the company in 2015. Originally named Getaway, their first cabin, Ovida, opened in southern New Hampshire near Boston and quickly captured the hearts of guests. By 2016, buoyed by media acclaim and investor support, the company expanded to New York and rebranded as Postcard Cabins, reflecting its mission to provide peaceful, nature-centered escapes. Today, Postcard Cabins offers serene retreats nationwide, helping guests reconnect with life’s simpler joys.

Postcard Cabins is now a leading name in outdoor accommodations, with 29 Outposts across the United States. Each is strategically located within a two-hour drive of major cities, offering private woodland retreats that strike a perfect balance between solitude and connection with nature.

Custom-designed cabins, ranging from 140 to 200 square feet, are thoughtfully crafted with natural materials such as wood, metal, and glass. Interiors feature warm Eastern White Pine and expansive picture windows that bring the beauty of the outdoors inside, showcasing sunrises, starlit skies, and tranquil vistas. Each cabin carries a unique name inspired by the grandparents of team members and guests, adding a nostalgic and personal touch.

The cabins are outfitted with everything needed for a simple, comfortable getaway: queen or bunk beds with plush linens, a two-burner stove, mini-fridge, sink, toilet, and a hot shower stocked with toiletries. Climate control ensures year-round comfort. Outdoor amenities include a fire pit with a grilling grate, seating, and thoughtful extras like cookware, dishware, and a curated mini-library. Guests are encouraged to unplug with a provided cell phone lockbox, while pet-friendly cabins include amenities like dog bowls, treats, waste bags, and outdoor leads for a $50 fee. For safety, landlines are available in locations with limited cell service.

Select Outposts, such as Talladega Valley, Eastern Catskills, Machimoodus, Shenandoah, and Starved Rock, feature upgraded Outdoor Suites with hammocks, chef’s stations, and string lights, creating a more luxurious outdoor experience. Flexible early check-in and late check-out options give guests more time to enjoy their surroundings, ensuring every stay is a restorative escape into the beauty of nature.
