Venice V Hotel

A reimagined 1915 landmark on Venice’s iconic Boardwalk

Venice V Hotel is the only beachfront lifestyle hotel in Venice Beach, set within a soulfully reimagined 1915 landmark directly on the Boardwalk. Once known as The Waldorf and home to Hollywood icons, today it offers a front-row seat to surf, skate culture, and the raw creative pulse of coastal Los Angeles. Every room faces the Pacific. Every stay feels deeply rooted in place.

Overview

Venice V stands at the intersection of history and counterculture. Originally built in 1915 and once home to names like Charlie Chaplin and Clara Bow, the building has lived many lives. Today, its exposed brick, restored elevator, riveted steel beams, and central staircase preserve the character of old Venice while framing a distinctly modern hospitality experience.

The interiors are shaped by local artists, craftsmen, and designers whose stories are intertwined with the neighborhood. Rooms fall into distinct themes such as Boho, Artist, and Dogtown, each reflecting a different facet of Venice’s identity. Photography documenting local skate culture, custom furnishings, and repurposed skateboard deck details ground the design in authenticity rather than trend. No two rooms are exactly alike.

Ocean views define the stay. From standard guestrooms to rooftop penthouse bungalows, each space opens to the Pacific and the energy of the Boardwalk below. Aesop bath amenities, Marshall speakers, Apple TV, and thoughtfully layered textures elevate the experience without compromising its laid-back spirit. The rooftop bungalows, some named after former residents, feel residential and intimate, ideal for longer stays or special occasions.

Step outside and Venice unfolds immediately. The skate park, Muscle Beach, surf breaks, and the 26-mile coastal bike path are directly at your door. Abbot Kinney’s boutiques and restaurants sit a short walk away. The hotel does not separate guests from Venice; it immerses them fully. It is less a retreat from the neighborhood and more an invitation to live within it.
