Son Blanc Farmhouse

A regenerative 130 hectare finca in Menorca

Set within 130 hectares of wild Menorcan landscape, Son Blanc Farmhouse is a living experiment in regenerative hospitality. Conceived by owners Benoît Pellegrini and Benedicta Linares Pearce, the finca has been transformed into a rural retreat rooted in ecological responsibility, architectural integrity, and social connection. It invites guests to step beyond conventional luxury and into a slower, more conscious way of being.

Overview

Son Blanc began as a family vision shaped by a deep attachment to Menorca and a desire to respond, in a meaningful way, to the environmental shifts of our time. Acquired in 2018 and restored over five years, the abandoned 19th century farmhouse was reimagined with the support of Atelier du Pont and local craftsmen. The result is a retreat where traditional Menorcan architecture meets bioclimatic design, combining passive cooling, cork insulation, geothermal systems, photovoltaic panels, and water recycling to significantly reduce energy consumption.

Agriculture sits at the heart of the project. Through regenerative farming and Keyline land management, the estate nurtures soil fertility, biodiversity, and resilience. Almond and olive groves, orchards, vegetable gardens, medicinal plants, and livestock form a closed loop ecosystem that feeds the kitchen year round. The ambition is clear: to move toward full energy, water, and food self sufficiency by 2030, demonstrating that hospitality and ecological responsibility can coexist without compromise.

The farmhouse offers 14 individually designed rooms and suites, each shaped by local stone, clay, reclaimed wood, and natural textiles. Some open onto private gardens, others to terraces with sea views or outdoor hot tubs. Shared spaces include a pool carved into rock, yoga platforms, treatment areas, and communal dining tables designed to encourage interaction. This is not an isolated escape, but a place where guests are invited to participate in farm life, workshops, and shared rituals.

The kitchen reflects the rhythms of the land. Menus evolve daily, guided by what is harvested each morning or sourced from trusted local producers. Cooking over charcoal fire, pickling, fermenting, and preserving anchor a cuisine that is generous, earthy, and rooted in place. Weekly communal dinners and events bring residents and hosts together, reinforcing Son Blanc’s core belief that hospitality is a vehicle for reconnection with nature, community, and self.
