Loch Fyne, United Kingdom

Nestled on the calm shores of Loch Fyne, within the 12,000-acre Ardkinglas Estate, Kabn offers a serene retreat that feels both intimate and expansive. Enter one of its two cabins, where timber frames meet the loch’s gentle lapping, and you’ll sense a quiet urge to return before unpacking. Kabn is more than a getaway; it’s a haven that grounds you, tying you to Scotland’s rugged coast with a deep, lasting connection.

Set just outside Inveraray, Kabn blends accessibility with seclusion, its cabins overlooking a loch that gleams silver under rolling green hills. The water stretches far, pine trees rustle in the breeze, and the sky shifts from pale dawn to fiery dusk—a retreat close to town yet far from its noise. Facing the loch and surrounding wild, each cabin frames views that feel private yet vast, a tranquil escape shaped by the land itself.

“Kabn was born from a desire to create spaces that are not only sustainably and thoughtfully designed, but that also offer a deeper, more meaningful connection to nature.”

— Amber Pledge, Owner

Crafted by Amber Pledge and Charlie Teale, the cabins merge Loch Fyne’s natural beauty with precise design. Built from sustainable timber, Kabn 1 features a tall, Japanese-style slatted gable, while Kabn 2 opens wide with a panoramic glass corner. Inside, each offers a king-sized bed with organic cotton linens, a rainfall shower, and a living area warmed by a wood-burning stove. Floor-to-ceiling windows capture the loch’s shimmer, wooden floors gleam softly, and every detail invites calm. Mornings carry the scent of damp earth, meals cooked on the Big Green Egg taste of local bounty, and the cabins feel like extensions of the landscape.

Kabn is a place of rest, where the spirit settles. Time slows, marked by the loch’s ripples and sunlight on the hills. Sit by the water as dawn breaks, or relax on the private beach at dusk—each moment feels deliberate. Designed to blend with Scotland’s coast, Kabn offers a retreat that honors the land’s quiet beauty, creating an escape both timeless and personal.
