BOS-COS Menorca

A design-led Mediterranean home near the sea

BOS-COS Menorca is a place designed not for passing through, but for staying. Tucked into the coastal village of Es Castell, just steps from the harbor of Cales Fonts, this traditional Menorcan townhouse offers a slower, more grounded way to experience the island. It is a home shaped by light, sea air, and everyday rituals, where mornings begin with a swim, afternoons unfold at an unhurried pace, and time stretches gently enough to allow presence to return.

Overview

Set within a former British enclave on Menorca’s eastern edge, BOS-COS Menorca sits at the meeting point of local life and coastal calm. The house is woven into the fabric of the village, where fishermen still pass by the harbor and the rhythm of the sea defines the day. From the front door, the water is less than a minute away, making spontaneous swims part of daily life rather than a planned activity. This immediate connection to the sea gives the home its quiet, anchoring energy.

The house itself has been carefully renovated to preserve its original Menorcan character while introducing comfort suited to longer stays. Spread across generous, light-filled spaces, it offers three double bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and a guest toilet. Two bedrooms open toward the sea, capturing shifting light and harbor views, while the third faces an interior patio centered around a mature ficus tree. The layout balances openness with privacy, making it equally suited to shared moments and quiet retreat.

At the heart of the home lies a thoughtful sense of livability. A fully equipped kitchen supports both slow, intentional cooking and simple everyday meals. The living area is expansive and welcoming, with a fireplace, dining space, and soft seating that invite lingering rather than rushing. A dedicated work corner allows the house to function as a true base for remote work, creative focus, or extended stays, without compromising the feeling of rest.

Outdoors, BOS-COS reveals its more intimate side. The private patio pool offers a secluded counterpoint to the open sea, while two terraces create distinct atmospheres throughout the day. One sits within the patio, shaded and inward-looking, while the other extends from the main bedroom, offering an elevated moment of privacy with an outdoor shower. Throughout the house, design choices favor calm, continuity, and authenticity, allowing the island’s natural and cultural rhythms to shape the experience rather than compete with it.
