Olmara Camp

A remote Serengeti camp famed for big cats

Olmara Camp is a Serengeti wilderness haven where the rhythm of predator and prey unfolds just beyond your tent. Set on the remote eastern plains, this intimate camp blends seamlessly into ancient acacia groves and endless grasslands. Here, luxury is understated, the horizon is vast, and the wild is not something you observe from afar, but something you feel, hear, and wake up within.

Overview

Olmara Camp is located in the Soit le Motonyi region of the Eastern Serengeti, an area celebrated for its exceptional predator activity. This is big cat country. Cheetahs roam the open plains, lions patrol the kopjes, and leopards move silently through riverine woodland. Wildlife is abundant and the experience is deeply immersive, offering guests an authentic and unscripted encounter with the Serengeti ecosystem.

The camp itself is intentionally open to its surroundings. Animals pass through, the wind moves freely across the plains, and the sense of connection to nature is constant. Eight tented suites are positioned within an ancient grove of acacias, each offering expansive views across grassy savannah and toward the Ngare Nanyuki river valley. The design is refined yet natural, with wooden floors, canvas walls, soft carpets, a lounge cove, writing desk, and en suite bathroom with running water and flush toilet.

Three of the suites are Stargazer Tents, allowing guests to fall asleep beneath the African sky. With retractable canvas panels above the bed, these suites transform the night into part of the experience, merging comfort and wilderness in a rare and unforgettable way.

Days at Olmara are shaped by flexibility. Private guides and vehicles allow guests to move at their own pace, whether tracking predators at sunrise, heading out on a walking safari, fly camping under the stars, or enjoying bush meals in remarkable locations. The experience is immersive yet unforced, wild yet deeply considered.
